Five Questions With Model Amy Torrance - Posted by

At only 18 years old, Amy Torrance from Storm Models is one to watch out for this year. A regular on the modelling scene, Amy has walked for some of the hottest designers to name including Mary Katrantzou, Sass and Bide, Temperley, Meadham Kirchoff and Jasper Conran. We talk to Amy as she shares her tips with us on how to make it in the modelling industry.

1) How did you first get into Modelling?

I was scouted when I was 14 at a charity fashion show at my school.

2) Which designers do you aspire to work for?

I would love to work with Karl Lagerfield because he’s such a legend but also I’m a huge fan of Alexander Wang.

3) What beauty products do you swear by?

I use Bio Oil for everything, it’s such a useful product.

4) Is modelling really as glamorous as it looks?

The worst bit is the waiting around, especially at castings where you can sometimes be waiting for 2 hours. All the travelling to and from castings isn’t fun either.

5) What advice would you give anybody hoping for a modelling career?

I would say to someone who wanted to become a model to finish their education first because this industry isn’t for everyone so make sure you have a back up plan!

Helena Christensen Launches Her Lingerie Line at Selfridges - Posted by

I met Danish supermodel Helena Christensen as she launched her lingerie collection for Triumph at London’s Selfridges this afternoon. Towering above us all, Helena made her way through the crowd to view her designs and to try out the exclusive ‘Fantasy Mirror’ which enables customers to virtually try on their underwear. What can you expect from her collection? Think bold, seductive designs of red lace and navy with dreamy black and white silk corsets.

Brilliance at Burberry - Posted by

And the finale with umbrellas, fake rain (must be a first!) beating down

LFW’s Burberry’s Autumn Winter show this afternoon did not disappoint, it was held in a newly appointed glass structure in Hyde Park with only the trees overhead as our view.  From where I was sitting ( 2nd row, thanks very much Burberry!)  I could see every Fashion Editor from around the globe with the Grande Dame herself, Anna Wintour sitting next to Hamish Bowles on the front row.   Once the music started we were all whisked away to a woodlandfantasy. Country casual was the order of the day, with deep plum, bottle green and mustard colours shown in deep velvets, cords and cashmere. Cut off Parka jackets (Alexa Chung loving these front row) frilly skirt, embellished sheepskin and long puffa jackets ( Christopher Baileys staples) were strutted out, but what stole the show was the fox and owl motifs embellished on everything from handbags, t shirts, jumpers to jackets. I loved the belts with the gold foxes heads. The finale of the show saw rain beating down on the glass house we were sitting in and all the models sauntering down the runway with umbrellas – trully origional and such a visual feast.  British fashion at its best and as any wise owl would know Burberry still rules supreme.

Crowds outside waiting to get a glimpse of the fashion pack

Country Casuals and bow belts shown with everything

So up Alexa Chungs street. Short parkas are set to be huge

Owls everywhere. luxurious knits mixed with velvet skirt, so country house chic
