The Voice V BGT - Posted by

The Voice Versus BGT

Britain’s Got Talent has long been a television favourite among the nation. However, since the recent rise of The Voice which began over in the States that has no doubt left Mr Cowell shaking in his boots, the nation is divided. Here we take a look at the differences between the two, who wears what and which comes out on top. TV ratings show that when the two shows went head to head (Before Simon Cowell made the decision to change the timings allowing viewers to watch one after the other) The Voice had 10 Million viewers whilst BGT had only 6.4 Million. As always, all eyes are on the ladies of the show as we watch in anticipation to know what they will be wearing week after week. Last night both Holly Willoughby and Jessie J were dressed in Dolce & Gabbana. From presenters to judges, there is no doubt that this year the fashion stakes are up even higher as the two shows go head to head in showcasing some rather spectacular outfits.

1) What is your favourite item in the range?

For me it is the Simona Bra because it gives you extra cleavage, which everyone likes. I can go and work hard in the gym because it gives you a push up and amazing support. It is comfortable and looks very natural under your clothes.

2) When you shoot swimwear and lingerie campaigns you are shooting over 20 shots a day. What is the secret to your amazing bikini body?

You’re shooting outside so when you drink water you should drink very small sips so that your stomach does not bloat. The secret is don’t eat dairy products, eat more chicken and grilled vegetables. Work hard in the morning before shooting, it always helps to bringyour muscles out.

3) Do you have any beauty tricks?

Drink a lot of water, try to stay away from the sun, and always moisturise your neck . I only use organic products and I use a lot of coconut oil. I put it on my body, my face and in my hair as a hair mask.

4) Your three favourites: Beach, Designer and film?

Every beach that has beautiful warm water, I love the Maldives! Designer would be Alexander Wang, and film, Matchpoint

5) A Supermodel should always…

Look amazing and be beautiful inside and out.

5 Questions with…Emilio Cavallini - Posted by

This week asked Italian designer Emilio Cavallini, who is famous for his striking hosiery collections 5 questions about his career and the inspiration behind his brand. His designs have been worn by Singers and Actresses such as Emma Stone, Blake Lively, Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, who is frequently seen out and about wearing a paris of Emilio Cavallini tights.

Above: Jessie J and Nicki Minaj (right on the Graham Norton show)

1) What is the inspiration behind your designs?

It is born from what is fashionable at the time; from forever changing and recycled trends. There is so much that goes on all over the world, and I am really inspired by my travelling and the forever changing world around us. From the news, cinema, music, lifestyle – the inspiration behind my designs comes from being in the moment.

2) What made you want to specialise in hosiery?

My working in hosiery really was fate. I wanted to be working in fashion from a very young age and hosiery was my calling. I met Mary Quant and she really inspired me, I came to London and did an internship with her. She asked a number of people if they wanted to work in hosiery, and how they would want to – very few people knew what they thought about hosiery but I knew straight away.

3) Who would you love to see wearing your tights?

The everyday girl on the street, the girl next door…

4) Which are your favourite items from the collection

My favourite has always been fishnet tights.

5) A Designer should always…

Design the right pieces for the right people, designers should always bring something new to the table that people want and like. Getting the trends right for your collection is so important.

COACHELLA

Music Festival Coachella takes place in Palm Desert in Southern California. With the crowds in their thousands and celebrities and models alike flocking in from all across the globe, Coachella is most definitely the equivalent of Glastonbury in the UK, if not bigger (minus the mud and rain). Playing this year are The Arctic Monkeys, Bon Iver, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Kasabian and Pulp alongside countless others. Due to the popular nature of Coachella, the festival is annually held over 2 weekends in April. As with most festivals, the emphasis on what people are wearing runs almost as high as the acts themselves. With celebs such as Kate Bosworth, Whitney Port and Vanessa Hudgens turning Coachella into a fashion show year after year with their hippy outfits, its no wonder the pressure is on. To help get you in the festival spirit we have compiled our very own festival guide of what to wear this year.
